Thrilled with opportunity to observe this Great Horned Owl sleep as he roosted in our Ponderosa Pine tree! This is a favorite tree in my FeederWatch area for many birds who seek refuge from the weather, or shelter from predators. I also have a platform feeder hanging from it. But curiously, so many birds who were roosting in it, and in the adjacent Aspen tree, were not aware that this predator was so near!!!
