A Black billed Magpie was cleaning up suet crumbs under a feeder at dusk, when suddenly there was a Great Horned Owl on its back. There was no struggle. Within seconds the owl flew into a nearby spruce tree with its prize. If I had not been sitting at the window watching, I’d have missed this backyard drama!
