Description

This male house finch has spent much of his time inside the chute window feeder, eating the seeds. At times, he flies up against the female house finch who is also trying to get seeds, but he usually wins. His right foot’s toes are larger than his left, and a strand of grass is wrapped around it. I wonder if he stepped in sap or something similar and what I’m seeing is debris stuck to his toes.
