It would have been nice, if you had added the tag, to know what the plant was on which the sparrow was perched.

That is a Bottlebrush (Callistemon) bush that the House Sparrow is perched on. It usually blooms from early March through July here in Northwest Florida. The flowers produce tons of nectar that is very attractive to pollinators and especially Hummingbirds. A number of other bird species are attracted to it for the sweet nectar as well as the many insects that are found in the blooms.
