This shore bird is from Malibu Lagoon State Beach, 02/01/20, where I photographed several sandpipers that I could not identify. I later found them in my hefty Birds of North America, but this one has me stumped! It reminds me of the Black-Bellied Plovers I also saw, but the coloration is wrong. Sorry about the blurry image; the bird was on the other side of the waterway.
