Great White Egret
Hey Richard, actually, I think that is normal. On the Bird Guide by the Cornell Lab, some of the breeding adults have the green.
The ones I see have light green near their eyes, but I have seen photos of birds with darker lores. (The skin near the eyes is called a lore)
