The bird I look most forward to seeing in the summer months is the orchard oriole. Any oriole grabs my attention, but the orchard is a rare visitor and has a rich, velvety looking, chestnut-colored back and chest. The orchard oriole that visited us last summer was also quite sociable, peering inside the house at times, which I took to mean “fill the umbrella feeder with jelly, please.” A real charmer.
