Description

I was shocked to see such a large hawk sitting on the empty planter barrel in the back of our yard. He was watching something intently and would periodically flop down into the snow-covered vegetation in front of the barrel, and then back up to the edge. When he finally flew away with a bird in his talons, I knew he had been stalking a House sparrow that had taken cover under the plants.
