For the last week the frozen water in our bird baths has been replaced with fresh water. Almost immediately our regular visitors began to drink.

When I was young and every spring I would anticipate finally spotting my first purple Finch. Alas these 40 some years later I have yet to see one. But always as usual that first bright male House Finch would get my hopes up! This is the ever elusive Male Purple Finch: https://feederwatch.org/community/participant-photo/pretty-purple-finch/ A sight to behold! Study it. Memorize it.
