This spring/summer we had at least 3 breeding pairs of pygmy nuthatches in 5 acres area surrounding the house. I think the kiddos decided to stay.
Chickadees, Nuthatches & Titmice
When I report the large number of pygmy nuthatches, I am asked to verify it. We have 4 suet feeders. This photo is of one feeder with 6 nuthatches on it. Frequently, all 4 feeders are mobbed by pygmy nuthatches.
