Jeff says:

Is this the same as a Flicker?

Heidi Faulkner, Project Assistant says:

Hello Jeff, thank you for reaching out. A Red-bellied Woodpecker and Northern Flicker are separate woodpecker species. If you are interested, you can click on the links provided in this comments and explore Cornell’s All About Birds pages on both of them.

Paula says:

Nope, but I’ve had both. Haven’t seen the Northern Flicker this year and I just missed a shot of a Pileated Woodpecker at the feeder!

The photo shows a male Northern Flicker (yellow-shafted)
