Description

After a long couple of months with no birds around, on December 30, 2023 we suddenly had a large flock of Robins, Goldfinches, Woodpeckers, and this lone beauty show up at our feeder station and birdbath.
We initially thought it was a stray Oriole, but on later ID searches, we found it was a female Summer Tanager…a real special sighting and lifer for both of us. It really liked the suet we had out, but she’s disappeared with the flock, seems to be travelling with it for protection. This mild winter has shown some abnormalities for sure.

I’ve noticed that my birds seem to be coming later, (Normal time around 7:40 am, now coming around 8:00-8:30 am) has anyone else noticed this?

Texas Bird Family says:

They have been coming at normal times for the last few days, no idea why they came so late before.
