While we were Feederwatching on 3/10/18, a Hairy Woodpecker stopped by to enjoy the suet balls – his first visit to our backyard. He seemed huge! We often see Downy Woodpeckers (much smaller) and Red-bellied Woodpeckers too. So we are sending photos of all three from last weekend to show the size difference at the same feeder.

Hairy Woodpecker eats yummy suet balls. He came back three times to eat that day, but hasn't been seen on subsequent days. Note much larger size than Downy.
