Predatory birds
Species: Red-shouldered Hawk
I have a young Red-shouldered Hawk, a young Cooper’s Hawk, and an adult Cooper’s Hawk that regularly visits. Along with Black and Turkey Vultures, Sharp-shinned Hawks, and other raptors that soar over my count site.
A Cooper’s Hawk has recently started visiting my count site again. Mostly, we see Red-shouldered Hawks around the neighborhood. I often see them picking voles and little snakes out of our front lawn. I’m always grateful when they allow me to get a few photographs!
