Male house finch appeared at my feeder today. Looks like growth/disease on head above bill and covering one eye. Appears to be oozing something – maybe blood because it is dark. Bird is lethargic but able to fly. I’m concerned if it could be contagious.

Those are millet seeds from the feeder on his face - stuck in the "ooze"
