Description

This past summer on June 30, 2013, I watched this poor American Redstart trying to satisfy the hunger of this Brown-headed Cowbird in my backyard. I knew about the Cowbird’s parasitic brood behavior, but was surprised the Redstart was still fooled considering the big size difference. The little Redstart made many trips, bringing back bugs and worms, but the Cowbird just kept screaming for more.
