Bald Eagle Flying Toward Nest

Description

This bald eagle was chasing a turkey vulture who was flying toward the eagle’s nest. The eagle is not yet mature so the head and tail feathers are mottled. As a child, I never expected to see a bald eagle in the Midwest as they were on the endangered species list (one of the few species to have ever been removed from this list). So, it was an especially moving experience to find this eagle soaring overhead along the shores of Wisconsin’s only designated wilderness park, in Ellison Bay, Door County, Wisconsin.
