My husband and I were sitting on our deck on Christmas Morning, when my husband noticed this baby bird on the rail. He almost seemed curious about us, so we started talking to him. He acted like he wanted to get a little closer, so I held out my hand. After several attempts, he landed on my hand and stayed for awhile. He flew away at one point, but after a little coaxing, came back for another visit. My husband took this opportunity to grab his ipad and get a few pictures. Later, we tried to research the bird, and we think it was a baby woodpecker.
