Description

One afternoon I spotted this Downy Woodpecker through the window on the pole to our bird feeder. I grabbed the camera to take several photos and it wasn’t until I saw movement in the background that I realized he was cleverly hiding from the hawk in a small tree nearby. What a surprise! The hawk flew away and the little woodpecker was unharmed.
