Description

I have befriended three cormorants that regularly fish in a pond less than a half mile from my house. They now allow me to get within arms length of them. There is a male, female and a juvenile. I was taking a profile shot of this one when he suddenly turned and looked directly at me. I used a narrow depth of field to focus directly in on the bird’s beautiful eyes. The bokeh of the shot turned out perfect as if the shot was made in a studio with a backdrop to match the color of the bird. It is probably my favorite photograph.
