Description

While driving out to the Kananaskis country for some Boxing Day snowshoeing with my wife and daughters, I noticed some people standing at the side of the road with a camera taking photos of something. I asked my wife if she could see what it was and she said “It’s an owl perched on a stop sign!”. We quickly pulled over to see this beautiful bird and, as we watched, we were lucky enough to see it dive down into the snow in front of us after a mouse or a vole. So for us after many trips down this road it was most “unexpected” to see a Great Gray Owl.
