Description

During the spring, Common Grackles were plentiful in my yard; it became quite educational and entertaining to watch their behavior when attempting to take over a good feeding spot. The Grackle on the upper right had claimed territorial rights, but the lower left one just couldn’t resist taking a fly-by at the post. The photo captured is the result of the two Grackles, one defending while the other “grabs lunch on the wing!”

While perhaps not the most majestic nor rarity of species, it certainly was an educational lesson in sheer determination!
