This system solved our squirrel problem and has been in use for more than 5 years.
Week 1: Your Feeder Setup
Feeders are a clothes-line pulley - about 50 ft long and 12 ft high. Keeps squirrels and bears out!
Do to a disability, it’s hard to get to the feeders. I want to have them on a pulley that I could pull the feeders to the deck to refill. Any ideas? Tree to deck post.
Mary, you are brilliant! We have bears and have had to take our feeders in every night, a pain. We are rather handyman-challenged, but can follow directions. Does one end go to a deck? Can you post details on how you installed it? We’d love to copy it here in northern CA. Thanks so much.
I’ve been trying to do this for many weekends now, and once I hang the loaded bird feeders, the line has come disengaged every time. SO FRUSTRATING. What fasteners are you using to join the two ends of the line, and what type of line are you using?
