On our way home from yet another wonderful visit to Cape Cod, the family stopped at Scusset Beach State Reservation. A group of sanderlings were hugging the surf looking for food, I’m guessing someone’s eggs. Usually they run each time a wave comes in, but this little one just stayed in the surf. I thought that was pretty gutsy for such a little bird. It seemed quite calm about the whole situation. I find sanderlings fun to watch every time!
