Description

Not that many years ago wintering hummingbirds were very rare in Central Texas; however, nowadays this occurs much more frequently. Well-meaning friends of birds used to be advised take down hummingbird feeders. I have been advising local friends to keep up such feeders, clean them regularly, and also change the sugar water. As the photo shows, the reward can be tangible, like this lovely female adult Rufous Hummingbird.
