Central Wisconsin Kestral Research has a large network of nesting boxes for American Kestrals in the Buena Vista Grasslands in Central Wisconsin. They visit the boxes regularly in spring, band the chicks at the appropriate time, and continue to monitor the boxes and collect data until the chicks fledge. I went on a field trip that they conducted–very informative and fun.
