This picture is taken through my sliding glass patio doors. This is one of five American Robins who have stayed in my area to enjoy the fruit from neighbouring crabapple trees. Although I do not have any fruit bearing trees to attract the robins to my yard….I do have water which can be in short supply for the birds in the dead of winter. I love the variety of birds that come to my yard for the water in my WBU heated birdbath!
Week 12: Thrushes
Species: American Robin
Even as the snow flies, and ice forms, the daily visit of this American Robin to my heated bird bath, reassures me of the promise of spring to come.
