Description

This American Robin was the only one of three that survived when it’s nest fell 20 feet onto the ground from a Maple tree after a severe rain and wind storm. I put dry material in the nest and moved it near the tree trunk since I could not put it back in the tree. However the fledgling kept jumping out of the nest and a parent was vocal. I left it there and it took cover in some ground cover plants. For five days I monitored a parent feed it and watched it grow and venture away from the Maple. I finally saw it do low level flights and the next day both the parent and fledgling were gone. What an experience to witness and to be able to get some photos as a memory.
