I spotted this Great Blue Heron fishing along Big Pool Lake on August 13. By 6:30 pm, the low angle sun had turned the water an electric shade of green. Just then, the heron turned its attention from fishing to grooming. Balancing on one leg as it reached behind for a feather, the heron looked like a ballerina stretching at the barre.
