Description

This isn’t the highest quality photo because I took it from afar and cropped in. It was quite a surprise to actually witness a juvenile Cowbird being fed by it’s “parent”, a Chipping Sparrow! Of course, I knew Cowbirds were famous for laying their eggs in other birds’ nests but I had never witnessed the process. A Mourning Dove and squirrel are watching the scene in awe as was I!

Ashley, this is truly an unexpected photo! I especially like the dove and squirrel observers.

Your photo tells a story, an interesting one indeed! I see that there is an audience too!

I thought the larger bird was “hollering” at the smaller bird when I first browsed past your photo. I decided to take a closer look and now I know the true story via your photo and experience description.

Good Unexpected entry!
