Description

A pair of Red-bellied woodpeckers had started building a nest hole. They’d been working on it for about a week, when this male Northern Flicker decided to start building his own nest and decided that the hole the red-bellied couple had started looked more easy to work into his own place than start a new hole. So, he chased the red-bellied woodpeckers away and enlarged the hole for his mate. Alas, they only had it for about two weeks before some starlings took it over.
