Description

A pair of American Robins were nesting in a bush adjacent to my neighbors living room window. We set up our cameras on the INSIDE of the house and photographed the proud parents as they brought food to their constantly hungry chicks through the window! Even so we weren’t more than 8-10 feet away from the nest. There are actually three chicks here, and if you look closely you can see 2 gaping mouths. The third is perfectly aligned so as to not be visible. Both parents were bringing food, but this shot is Papa, and it looks like he made a big run to the grocery store! How he managed to gather and hold onto all those delectable grubs and worms I have no idea! He certainly hit the jackpot, didn’t he? It is quite a mouthful!

Great image, Janet. I can only imagine the fun (and thrill) you must have had to set up your camera and then witness and shoot some great shots through a window, documenting this Robin’s parental instincts to feed his chicks. And those grubs and worms? Yum! Nice work.

Wow! Can’t imagine how he made it back with that load intact. Wonderful shot. Thank you for sharing it!
