Description

For 2 years, this beautiful anomaly has visited my backyard. She is a Northern Cardinal with leucism. Although I’ve read they can be shunned, Lucy (as I’ve named her) was at our feeder this summer with what I assumed was her mate. Later, a couple of what I believe to be her offspring (varying degrees of white present) also visited. Every single time I’ve spotted her, it has been a thrill. I know she’s considered a genetic mutant, but I think of her as exquisitely different.
