I traveled from New York City to visit my best friend in Los Angeles recently. She knows about my passion for birds and wanted to show me a special hidden oasis for birds in Los Angeles. A small habitat for birds had been created minutes from the freeway. A pond surrounded by shrubs, trees, and grassy areas was teeming with many bird species! One of my favorite photos from that day was of this Pied-billed Grebe. The light on the water created beautiful colors, shapes, and reflections. Thank you so much, my dear friend Sara.
