Description

Everything she touches turns to gold. But the good gold, life-giving kind, just like the sun, or like honey. American Goldfinch perched on yellow flowers at John Heinz National Wildflife Refuge, Philadelphia, PA, with a small bee hiding in the upper right hand corner of the photo. It’s hard to believe that a place within view of the Philly skyline is so teeming with life. A magical kingdom nestled in a corner of the big city!

I mean upper LEFT hand!!! The bee is in the LEFT corner of the photo!!! I still get those mixed up… 🙂

Theresa Nickels says:

Beautiful shot, Alejandra! Love how the finch’s wing tip rests on the stem and love the bee!

Beautiful, how pretty and petite!

Donna Barski says:

The more I look at our photo – the more I see. And enlarged – it is really nice! I love the soft yellow color of the finch and, like Theresa, I like how the wing and tail are propped up by the flower stem. The shadows on the leaves add some deep color richness.

And your description of the Refuge – inspires me to make visit there one day.
