Description

This is a very special bird… out in the Moose Bog on the first day of August, I was surrounded by a Boreal paradise… I can see why they call it the Northeast Kingdom! I wandered around, simply in awe of the magnificent forest. And suddenly, I spotted this hen spruce grouse poking her head up above the lush undergrowth. She perched atop this diagonal fallen log for several minutes, and then calmly, regally turned around, stepped down, and disappeared. It felt just like a fairytale…

Great photo and great description of your experience. You had a “magical” time indeed!

I appreciate photographs of birds in their habitat – almost hidden.

A vote from me for sure.

Thank you so much, Donna! I really appreciate your comment ^_^ It was so amazing and beautiful. And she was only visible for a few minutes…
