Description

This photo was taken at the Haehnle Bird Sanctuary near our home, which is a roosting place for Sandhill Cranes during their annual migrations. During late autumn, they can be seen at sunrise, lifting off in groups of various sizes, headed for their winter grounds in Florida, honking as they go. When the light is right, the colors of the sunrise are reflected on their bodies, showcasing the beauty of these birds in flight.
