Description

This is the only time I’ve seen a Thrush. He stopped by two years in a row going after our Mountain Ash berries early in September. I had him identified from two different sites to make sure what kind he was and both agreed he was indeed a “Swainson’s Thrush”. I love the sound of Thrushes more than any other bird because of the musical flute like song they make. And the only good picture I’ve been lucky enough to snap since he was at the top of the tree, not hidden by all the leaves.

I do realize that the Robin & other more common species are part of the “Thrush” family but the real flute like sounds come from those whom has “Thrush” in it’s title. Like the “Wood & Hermit & Swainson’s” Species. The “Veery” sound is also a big favorite of mine from way back in my childhood. 🙂
