This picture was taken by my daughter who just turned 11 at the time. We were at Big Bend National Park. She found this little guy and snapped this pic all by herself. I think it was really the first time I realized that she has a bit of a talent for this. We think the pic looks like a painting.
We still cannot get over the thorns the birds have to perch on in this park.

I do think this photo is beautiful, sharp, framed well showing the bird with a little bit of surrounding, the focus is the bird, the thrones enhance the contrast making it worthy to be number one, all the photos are beautiful, this one is smart and beautiful.
