This was taken at Ruddy Duck Lodge, Saskatchewan. When we arrived we found the forest denuded by Forest Tent Caterpillars making it possible to see many bird’s nests. It was unexpected that we would find a Veery nest, it was unexpected that in addition to the Veery eggs there would be two Brown-headed Cowbird eggs. And, I know when these birds hatch the Veery will find them unexpected.
