It was a rainy Saturday afternoon when I noticed this red tail hawk perched in a tree on the lookout for a meal in the recently cut ground cover below. She swooped down from her perch and caught an unsuspecting rodent. When I took this photo, she had the little rodent pinned to the ground and decided to stop for a moment to have her picture taken.
