Was driving along the road when I noticed the birds flying around and ripping apart the thistles, It was windy and the seeds ripped from the weeds flew around as they became ripped from the pod

I have read that the A. goldfinches use the fluff to build their nests. Of course, they love to eat thistle seeds too. Thank you for being so observant and taking the opportunity to stop and photograph this bird in action in the “wilds” of Canada.
