Description

One of four new species to visit the feeders this year. This Northern Oriole was at first hard to identify as it looked very different than the Baltimore and Bullocks Orioles. There were a pair, male and female, and at first were very skittish, but over the course of 2+ weeks they became used to the comings and goings of the back yard. They preferred the orange halves to the nectar and seed food. It was a wonderful splash of color to the backyard feeder. What a delightful surprise.
