I have a few blue jays that visit my yard for the shelled peanuts I put out for them. Sometimes one blue jay will pick up 5 different peanuts before deciding on one. I even had a blue jay pick a peanut, fly off, and return moments later to swap peanuts.

I love how they do this! I’ve always thought they’re testing the weight not happy until they find the biggest.
