Description

I’ve been putting up my sunflower seed feeder for 2 years now, and only recently (in the last couple of weeks) have I started getting any other birds besides sparrows and chickadees. This white-breasted nuthatch and a red-breasted nuthatch just started visiting regularly, and I love watching them cling to every possible thing in and around the feeders! I hope they’ll keep coming all winter long!

What I like about this photo is it offers a view of the side of the nuthatch we don’t always see as it clings to a tree or pole; the white belly and beautiful reddish feathers near its legs and rump. I also love that the fall colors were in full force for the bokeh 🙂
