Description

I was in my yard photographing a sapsucker when a Blue Jay came around the corner of the house screaming in alarm. It was then I noticed this White-breast Nuthatch frozen on the side of a tree holding its recent morsel. I presumed a hawk’s presence had been detected causing the jay’s alarm and the nuthatch’s behavior. The nuthatch remained nearly frozen for a about four minutes while I worked progressively closer.
