Description

This male downy woodpecker, a frequent visitor, couldn’t resist the sight of the sunflower seeds that I had just placed in a small hanging pot. He was aware of my presence behind the window and gave me a nervous look over his shoulder, before digging in as quick as possible. I love the light reflected in his big round eye that gives him the expression of a child caught wth his hand in the cookie jar.
