We have long, cold Winters in Western, NY and toward the end of April, I start watching for the return of the Summer birds. I usually watch in vain until the first week in May but last year, I glanced out the window at the feeders one morning and all of the sudden, there they were…multiple Rose-breasted Grosbeaks back for the season. Within a couple of hours the Baltimore Orioles and a Hummingbird showed up. The miracle of migration!
