Description

Cedar Waxwings travel in big packs – I’ve had a hundred in my trees before – and I think are very striking birds. When big packs move between trees, it looks like the trees are alive in motion! In this photo, they gathered by a tree that has a hole in it where water will sit after a rain. So, they were all taking turns drinking water. Some of the waxwings have the red ‘wax’ drop on their back – and the waxwing on the right has his wings spread – you can see the red dot at the ends of his wings spread out. I thought it was a cool shot.
