Description

Snow showers are an uncommon occurrence here in the Portland Oregon region. Last year we saw snow only once, and I was unprepared to photograph the hummingbirds while it was snowing. As soon as the white stuff started to fall again this year, I grabbed my camera, stood out on the deck, and watched the entertainment ensue. We see hummingbirds here, year around, so our feeders are always busy, but with snow in the air, it was everyone for themselves as the hummingbirds dived, chased, battled, and squawked at one another, each fighting for his/her chance at the feeder in the cold and wind.
